COVID-19 Second Positive Test

I returned from Dali on Saturday and took the weekend to rest. On Monday after work, I noticed that my throat was not feeling well, so I reluctantly took some Chinese herbal medicine called “Xianzhu Liye” liquid.

There was a heavy rainstorm and strong west wind on Monday night. The window of room 644 was leaking, so I had to drain the water in the middle of the night. Even with the windows closed, I still felt sweaty.

The next morning when I woke up, I felt very uncomfortable. I took an antigen test and it came back positive, confirming that I had a second positive test for COVID-19.

I struggled to ask for leave in the morning and spent the whole morning lying in bed at home, half-asleep. My family accompanied me through the discomfort.

I finally got up around noon and checked the tasks on my computer. I ate a chestnut pastry and took some medicine (ibuprofen and “Xianzhu Liye” liquid).

Before going to work, I checked if the window in room 644 was still leaking and if the water on the windowsill had dried up.

In the afternoon at work, I felt noticeably cold. When I got home in the evening and checked my body temperature, it spiked to 39 degrees Celsius. I bought medical ice packs and fever-reducing patches.

The next morning (Wednesday), my temperature dropped to slightly over 37 degrees Celsius, so I went to work. I didn’t feel much in the morning and didn’t have lunch (completely lost my appetite).

In the afternoon, I felt particularly cold. I borrowed a thermometer on the 21st floor and measured my temperature, finding it to be 38.6 degrees Celsius. I realized I had a high fever, so I went downstairs to a convenience store and had some Kanto-style hot pot dishes. I also took a dose of ibuprofen.

When I returned home at night, I felt much better. The discomfort I experienced in the afternoon had subsided, likely due to the effects of ibuprofen.

Then I became careless, thinking that I was getting better. The third day (Thursday), I went to work normally, but in the afternoon, I started to have a fever again, accompanied by a feeling of coldness.

In the evening, I went to Baba Niang, a Malaysian restaurant. My sense of taste and smell were impaired that night, so I couldn’t taste the flavors, but based on my feeling, I found the taste to be acceptable.

After returning home at night, I felt much better. On Friday (the fourth day), I still had some lingering symptoms such as coughing, but there were no major issues anymore.

The above faithfully records the development and experiences of having a second positive test for COVID-19.
